It is an acute respiratory disease. Primary cause of it is hypothermia and viruses. The major symptoms of ARD are sneezing, cough, running eyes, appetite loss and depression of strength. Cough is usually accompanied by expectoration and lasts from 5 to 15 days. If dog has all the symptoms of ARD, one should immediately take it to a veterinarian. If the dog should not get any assistance of experienced doctor, ARD may turn into inflammation of the lungs. In order to prevent the disease, it is necessary that dog should rest away from windows and doors. After walking, one ought to wipe dog’s paws and hair with a clean napkin. If it rains or the wind blows high outside, it is recommended to cut walking time to a minimum, but coming home one should dry the hair and the paws elaborately.
Heart failure

The disease is brought about by Koch’s bacillus which enters dog body during communication with sick animal and through milk of consumptive caws. Pet dogs very seldom suffer from this disease.
