Methods of drug administration

Voluntary method
Voluntary way is used if dog is conscious and has appetite. With such way of drug administration a few of powdery preparation is mixed to food of sick dog. It is done in the following manner: cooked food (meat, fish, curd, cheese, vegetables, etc.) is reduced to fragments, mixed with medicaments and only now given to the pet. Thin medicine is usually added to drinkable water or milk. If its taste is unpleasant, it needs to add some sweet syrup or sugar to the liquid. Forcible method Medications can be added not only to dog food but also given directly to it. It is usually done if a drug is distasteful or the pet does not have appetite. For making the dog eat a tablet, an assistance of another person will be necessary. One person should take dog’s neb in his hands and compress it heavy. He should insert index and middle fingers of his other hand in dog’s jaws between the teeth and the cheek and after extend the cheek forth.
